A stuffy nose is one of the most irritating conditions to have and the sooner we get rid of it the better. Here are some cool tips on how to get rid of a stuffy nose faster and make sure it remains clear for longer too.
1. Massage the point between your eyebrows.
Massage this point gently for one minute. This will influence the nasal mucosa, prevent dryness, and inflammation of sinuses. It also reduces pressure in the frontal sinuses. Quite a good way how to get rid of your stuffy nose.
2. Massage the nasal sinuses.
Make circular movements in the area of the wings of your nose for 1-2 minutes with your index and middle fingers, gently pushing. This procedure will help to open the nasal passages, and it will be much easier to blow your nose
3. Massage the point between nose and lip
Just for 2-3 minutes, massage the point between your upper lip and nose with gentle movements This will help remove swelling in your nose.
4. Use an air humidifier.
When the air humidity is less than 40%, it can dry up mucus in your nose making you unable to breathe freely. If you have too much mucus and low humidity, this can lead to severe bacterial complications. The optimum moisture content is from 40% to 60%.
5. Warm up the bridge of your nose.
Using a warm piece of cloth at a comfortable temperature (which you can warm in a microwave or in hot water but squeezed thoroughly), warm the bridge of your stuffy nose. The heat will turn mucus into liquid. After warming your nose, blow it or wash it with saline.
6. If an allergy is the cause of the runny nose, work out
When your body warms up and heart rate increased, it can positively affect the fluidization of the mucus in your stuffy nose. This makes it easier to blow your nose. Just exercise for 15 minutes and that is enough to cope with allergic rhinitis (if you avoid allergens).
